What should I expect during my massage?

Massages at our studio

Our South Hill studio is located on a quiet street with free parking, private treatment rooms and en-suite shower facilities.

  • For a smooth experience, please arrive 10 to 15 minutes before your appointment.
  • Your therapist will greet you and guide you to your treatment room
  • Before and after your session, you will have the opportunity to use the en-suite shower facilities
  • At Leon Therapeutics, we believe that every massage should be different: tailored to your individual needs in the moment, and your health goals in the longer term. So, before beginning the massage, your therapist will chat with you about prior medical conditions, areas that are giving you trouble, modalities you like and pressure sensitivity
  • Upon completion of the massage, your therapist will advise on what you can do day-to-day to reduce strain on your body and help achieve your health goals.

Massages performed at your home, hotel or office

  • Your therapist will arrive at the time you book
  • They will bring all of the equipment they need, including a massage table, sheets and aromatherapy kit
  • All you need to do is clear a 6ft x 8ft space for the table
  • Please allow an additional 5-10 minutes at the start and end of your appointment for your therapist to setup and takedown their equipment

How long will my session be?

We offer 1 hour, 1.5 hour and 2 hour-long sessions.

This is the amount of time we spend actually massaging you. Your pre and post-session consultations take about an additional 10 minutes each. So, if you book a 1 hour massage, expect to be with us for about 1 hour and 15-20 minutes.

What kind of lotion do you use?

We use Bon Vital lotion, which is scent-free and hypoallergenic. Other lotions/oils are available upon request.

How often should I get a massage?

This is different for everyone and depends upon your current health and your goals. This is something your therapist will discuss with you during your post-session consultation.

How do I pay for my massage?

We take payment for your massage after your session is complete. Whether you opt for an in-studio or an at-home massage, you will be able to pay your therapist with cash, credit/debit card or venmo,

Do you take insurance?

Currently, we do not take insurance.

Insurance coverage for massage varies between providers. Check with your insurance representative to see if you are covered for this.

If you are covered, we are more than happy to provide you with an itemized invoice should you wish to claim your massage costs from your insurer – just let your therapist know after your session.

What is your cancellation policy?

For bookings made 48 hours or more in advance

Please provide us with at least 24 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Cancellations under 24 hours / no-shows may be charged 50% of the session fee.

Please provide us with at least 4 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Cancellations under 4 hours / no-shows may be charged 50% of the session fee.
